I have two 19" Sony CRT's driven by my GeForce 3 and a 2nd Rage 128 PCI
card. I am considering moving to two 20" Apple Cinema Displays both
driven by one GeForce 4 Ti (already sold the GF3 on eBay to fund GF4 Ti
which is on its way to me now).

How do games work on the 20" Cinema with its 1680x1050 native res?

Can you get "native" 1024x768 or 1280x1024 out of the 20" Cinema display
with edges chopped off? Or must it always interpolate? I hear some
games must run in a window?

Any general tips as to how the screen performs as a gaming screen?
Thanks.

I have an older ~23" Apple Cinema Display with 1600x1024 native
resolution. It works fine for games. Many games like most UT-engine
games, most Q3-engine games, and probably UT2003 have options for
setting the resolution to whatever you want. At 1600x1024 you get a
great picture if your video card can pump out a decent frame rate. At
1024x768 and others, it works fine but black bars on sides.

Depends on the game. I haven't seen a single game that requires running
in a window, though some have the option -- and I like using the option
when it's around.

Some games do have native support for the screen's actual resolution,
some will force "standard" 4x3 resolutions and you'll get black bars on
the side.

Works fabulously.

Anyone know what the response rate is? Most LCDs are limited in how
many frames they can put out. Some of the newer ones have faster
responses which allow 60fps or slightly better.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
