We recently switched to operating system Mac 0sx Version 10.3.3.
My original spreadsheet runs in classic (System 9.2). Since I switched =
to=20
System 10, strange compressed boxes appear on the spreadsheets. They=20
look like a thin line that is overlapped many times horizontally. They =
can=20
only be deleted by clicking on each one and deleting. Takes 20 minutes =
to=20
delete one set and one set uses up over 80,000 bytes. Each time we open=20
the spreadsheet, it seems strange things appear. One time it also had =
entire=20
cells that were sold colored lines that printed out. But were not set up =
for=20
that. Anyone else having this sort of problem?

I've never seen this - it sounds like a corrupt file, assuming it
happens only in one workbook.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Excel 2001 deletes names on Sort - This must be an old chestnut but I've just encountered it in Excel 2001. When sorting a list of names which include apostrophes - eg O'Brien, O'Hara - the resulting sorted list deletes all these names. The data was originally imported from a Word..

Excel '98 Edition/Mac OSX operating system - I recently purchased OS X for a powermac G4 and now I can't print files from my '98 version of Excel. It keeps saying "select a printer in Chooser" and I can't get it to work. In OS9 it worked perfectly. Any suggestions? Is there a download to ...

permanently change the Excel Mac data system - I would like to permanently change the date system of my Excel Mac, setting the 1900-based date system as default (instead of the 1904-based system). Is there anybody who knows how to do that???

unchecking 1904 date system for all excel files - I discovered that the dates were off on my excel files, and that I need to uncheck the 1904 option in the preferences. However, I am wondering, if there is a way to do this for all of the excel documents I have, instead of having to go to every one..
