Hi,
I have a Mac Mini (1st generation with Leopard installed). Last week I
bought a new display 24" (Acer P243). (1900x1200 pixel).
Now with the display connected (via DVI-HDMI) I have the feeling that small
fonts are somehow blured. Does anybody know if there is an option in Mac
OS - Leopard to sharpen the fonts?

2nd Prob: I changed the resolution from 1900x1200 (NTSC) to 1900x1200 (PAL)
instantly the screen turned black and there was no way to get back to the
old settings. (I reinstalled the entire OS). Does anybody know a keyboard
shortcut to get back to the old resolution settings?

3rd Prob: in Front-Row the menu is really slow and there are many graphic
errors displayed. I got the feeling the Front Row can not handle this screen
resolution. When turning the screen to a lower resolution like 1024x768
everything runs smooth. (maybe the build in graphic card of the mac mini
can not handle such high resolutions?)

Cheers,

Hi,

Excuse me, but why didn't you have a look at the specifications of your
machine? It is pretty damn clear from the specifications that your hardware
isn't powerful enough to handle such high resolutions:

"digital resolutions up to 1920 by 1200 pixels;"

ok thanks for your answer.
I've checked the web but couldn't find anything appropriate for the "old"
Mac Mini (1st Generation with 1,8 GHz).
Do you have a link?

Hi,

I'd say that if it has a weaker GPU than the current GMA950 (the info can be
found through the system information via about this mac), then I would say
that its going to be even worse.

hmm that means I have to reduce the screen resolution. Problem with that is
that the fonts and the icons do not look that good anymore. Due to it is not
the native screen resolution of the display. :-(
