Greetings. Does _anyone_ make a pcmcia/pc-card/cardbus card for
'G'-speed wireless under System 9, or could the reason I can't find one
be that they don't exist?

TIA.

cheers,

Henry

My understanding is that 'g' is only fully supported under 10.3.x. IOW,
for 9 you're stuck with 'b'.

Actually, all versions of OS 10 support Airport Extreme with the
appropriate version of the Airport software, not just 10.3. (You'll need
10.3 for WPA, though).

Look on versiontracker.com for "wireless". I've seen one company selling
drivers I believe for OS 9 and they also sell various cards.

I draw your attention to the word 'fully' above. You need 10.3.x to get
WPA working. Clear text _will_ work with earlier versions of 10. WEP works
with some earlier versions of 10 but not all (I think).

I've never seen a version of MacOS that supported 802.11b or 802.11g
but didn't support WEP. I don't think that WPA was part of the
original official 802.11g spec. I know that I have a Netgear 802.11g
access point that has what claims to be "standard-compliant" firmware, but
does not support WPA.
