Active X animation

Actually, when I opened it in PPT 2004, it said something about active x. To
answer your question I just tried to open it in 2008, and got a different
message:

This file contains visual basic macros.
Visual basic macros do not work in office 2008.

I can remove the macros by clicking on the remove macros button, but then
the thing won't work at all!

In 2004 it says,

Some controls on this presentation cannot be activated because powerpoint
does not support activex controls.

The thing runs fine in Windows, but I need it to run on my ppt 2008!

I get the same message with my PowerPoint 2004 when I try to run a slide show with audio. Is there a way to get Mac PP to support ActiveX controls (even if one does not know how the slideshow was created)?

The error messages are interesting but not very helpful, unfortunately.
What kind of thing IS this ... there's the question.

The error messages suggest that it might be a VBA-type control (textbox,
listbox, form, something like that). Those simply won't work in 2008, end of
story.

When you look at it in Windows, what is it that works there but not on Mac?

That may not be necessary, but again, what specifically is it that works in
Windows that doesn't work on the Mac. You haven't said.

Basically, when I open in the Mac I get the original image, that includes
"click to play". On the Mac, nothing happens. On the PC, I get the
animation, which requires serial clicks after each step in the animation.
