Post subject: Age of Empires I
Archived from groups: comp>sys>mac>games>strategic (more info?)

I have been playing the original Age of Empires game on my iMacG5 under
system X 10.3.8 with no particular problems. System 9.1 would start up
under emulation and the game ran fine. Occasionally I would have to
FORCE-QUIT system 9 emulation to get the game to restart emulation and
then load, but that was all.

Now it no longer works. The only new thing I've done is to put away that
pesky little reminder to tell me I should really install system 9.2
which used to come up whenever system 9.1 was initiated.

Can anyone tell me if there's a version of the original Age of Empires
game available for system X? (And I don't mean Age of Empires II, or
even III. I find the graphics of both newer versions weedy, and the
characters don't _walk_ properly, they seem to glide. Not at all as
realistic as AoE I).

Kind regards,

Devi

Any Solace? - In the computer store today I noticed a game called ``Solace,'' which I don't remember seeing discussed here. The package is a bit vague but it looks like it's a fancier version of Risk. Has anyone played it, and is it something that would satisfy..
