Hi all,

I have apparently a bad CD in the CD drive on my iMac Leopard (intel)
machine. Nothing in it was recognized and now it won't eject. I have
tried to eject it and it just sits there. The trash icon looks like the
"eject" symbol and none of the icons in the doc are functioning.
Rebooting hasn't helped. Is there any way to force eject the CD?

Thanks,RS

Restart the iMac while keeping the mouse clicked. (That's a standard
left click.)

What happened when you pressed the eject key on your keyboard?

When it happened to me, it did. The computer was less than a week old
and nothing anyone could suggest would make it behave. In fact, I had
to take the battery out to make it turn off(it was pretending it was
sleeping). Back at the Mac store they didn't know either. They sent it
in. It needed, as I recall, a new logic board(?) and something else.
Defect. It only cost me two 120-mile round trips, no $$.

Wow. All that from pressing the Eject key, huh? Who knew!
