After I RIPPED a new CD to multiple WMA files, when I insert the CD it no
longer shows up as a valid device to play music in Media Player. If I insert
another CD that I have not RIPPED, that one shows up fine.

Hum... and would you mind telling us how you managed to rip a CD with
WMP for Mac?? ;-)
(though you might be talking about the Windows version and posted here
by mistake :-> )

No, It is a Windows xp question but it is not my fault that the Media player
subject is MAC when it doesn't show that.

Hum are you suggesting it's my fault??
I don't know what you use to access the newsgroups. I use a dedicated
Newsreader application (there are plenty on Windows as well).

You might be accessing the groups from a webpage. If it is the case,
you should take a closer look at the name of the groups that migth be
indicated on the page. This one should say
microsoft.public.windowsmedia.player.mac

The last 3 letters clearly indicate that it is a group for the Mac
version of the application.
