Post subject: CUPS Gimp-Print driver for HP Deskjet 970cx?
Archived from groups: comp>sys>mac>printing (more info?)

Hello,

I am trying to connect my Mac to a shared HP Deskjet 970cx on a
Windows-based computer. My Mac is running OS 10.3.4. In the Printer Setup
Utility/Print Center, the Mac can "see" the printer in "Windows Printing",
and I can select it. However, when I click "Printer Model" to select the
driver, and then "HP", the 970cx driver is not listed (though I did install
it), nor is there a "HP DeskJet 970cx, CUPS+Gimp-Print v4.2.5" listed. I
tired using "generic" but this just resulted in the printer being stopped by
the Print Center.

I did try selecting "other" (instead of "HP") and then navigating to the HP
folder in the Library. I was able to select "hp deskjet 970C.plst", but when
I tried to print, the print spool was again stopped.

Any thoughts on what I might do to resolve this issue?

Thanks!
