Calendar - Adjust view size? (Office for Mac 2008)

Hi, all - I'm on Entourage '08 for Mac.

The "default" view in the calendar section is really large (or tall) - I have to scroll up and down to see everything from 6 a.m. until the evening.

Is there a way to make this view smaller so that I can see the entire day in one view?

ALSO: The 2004 version used to configure it so that if I wrote a block of text in a calendar item, the whole text would show on the "top view" once I saved the item. Now only the first few words show. Any clues how to make all the text show?

A few of us in the office use Laptops and find the calendar view far too large. I wonder if you have be able to find a solution? We have asked our IT guys but nothing come up so far!
