Post subject: Canon MP700 use with separate drivers?

I liked the Canon Multifunction device but was dissapointed that Canon
offer no Mac support whatsoever. Looking at the specs it would appear
this MFD is based on the Canon i850 printer and N1240U scanner -
considering specs and consumables listed

I wonder would the individual Mac drivers for these devices recognise
the MP700 or as I fear, the MP700 would simply identify itself to
Macintosh as "MP700" and therefore no good with the i850 & N1240U
drivers.

There are no updates for Mac at Canon Australia site.
