Intel have said that the processors which would be required for this
will be introduced in the first quarter of 2008, if my recollection is
correct. January is pretty early in the first quarter to be releasing a
product based on those processors.
Apple might announce one, but it may not be available for a couple of
months. I think an announcement with immediate availability around March
or April is more likely.
I suggest doing some more research on the estimated timeline for the
release of Intel's new Penryn processors (Core 2 Quad models, not Xeon),
and assume Apple is likely to release a new iMac based on them within a
month or two of the processors being available.
