Go to File -> Page Setup.

The rest is pretty obvious.

Hi Flo:

See the Help topic " Change paper size"

If the topic you want does not appear when you search, make sure you have
allowed your Help system to go online. The Help is now updating
dynamically. It needs to be online to update itself.

Keep using the Help, even if you sometimes don't find anything you want.

Because each time you search for a topic and don't find it, you are
effectively adding your "vote" to the list of readers searching for
information on the topic you searched for. The Help authors are working
busily to add the topics in the order of the frequency with which they are
requested :-)

When searching in Help, make sure you are using the search window in the
Microsoft Help window. Due to a bug, Spotlight cannot currently search the
Microsoft Help :-)

Hope this helps

Hi-
I have the same issue and the problem is that Word does not have an 11 x 17 inch option. When I select Manage Custom Sizes the dialog boxes exist to specify height and width but they do not allow me to enter values. What I am trying to do is produce a .pdf file that is printer ready, i.e., two 8.5 x 11 pages facing each other on one 11 x 17 sheet. If anyone has any hints I'd be much obliged.

Thanks,
Phil

Actually, Word doesn't have any paper sizes - those in the list are what are
supported by your printer & are supplied by the printer driver:-) The only
"restriction within the program ia a maximum *page* size of 22"x22".

When you go into the Custom Page Size dialog are you clicking the + below
the list before trying to change the dimensions?

OK, here's one I thought would work--it just seems, dare I say it, intuitive that Word 2004 would handle this:

I've created a poster 16" wide by 26" long. I thought it would be no problem to have Word put it out over four or six sheets of 8.5 x 11" paper, carving up the single page into four or six sheets that I could trim, abut, tape, and, cello (or viola!), have my 18 x 26 poster.

Is there any way that Word can handle this? Is it a printer limitation? Program limitation?

And/or are there any workaround, kludges?

Afraid not, Word will not accommodate anything larger than 22"x22".

You'll need software designed for page layout. If you don't have it & don't
want to obtain it you can do sizes like that in PowerPoint. Use Banner from
the dropdown in Page Setup & specify your dimensions. You'll get an
objection if your printer can't handle the size which you can choose to
ignore. You can also use Excel, but it might be a bit trickier.

The work-around/kludge is "Use Excel to do this."

Excel can print multiple impressions per page, Word can not.

Cheers
