Post subject: Classic questions
Archived from groups: comp>sys>mac>games>action (more info?)

Hi,

New to the group. Had a few questions about gaming in Classic mode.

Usually when I go to play a game in Classic (such as Jazz Jackrabbit 2
or Ferazel's Wand), the game play is jumpy or choppy.

Is there a way to resolve this and make Classic run the games a bit
more smoothly?

Also, I thought literally playing the games with the machine booted to
Classic, but to no avail. I have tried booting into Classic and
running the games in OS 9.2, but they don't seem to want to run in
that environment.

Is there a way to boot into Classic and actually play Classic games in
that environment?

Would a ram upgrade help this?

Would a better Processor speed resolve this? Currently I run an old
iMac G4 with a 700 MHz processor and 512 MB or ram. It is running
10.3. I was actually planning on updating to a Dual 1.25 GHz
processor G4 Powermac with more ram this year...

Lastly, would I be better off picking up on old iMac G3 cheap (they
seem to be easily had for 30-35 bucks these days and I loved my old
one) and just running it and the games in 9.2?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.

Jim
