The Samsung color laser printer is quite afford-able now.
If compare with the same price range ink jet printer.
Which one is better?
Think about this, the ink carts is quite expensive also.

What I would recomend is doing some pros/cons anylalisis (sp).
for example:
1. How many pages a month are you going to actually need color?
2. price per page on both toner and inkjet ink? figure 250
pages per ink refil.
3. Can you get the supplies easily?
4. Will the printer I select work with my computer? (thats not
a minor issue!)

Since I mainly print black and white, and not quite as often.
an inkjet per page for me was outragious as there isn't any b&w
models still made. the price for my Lexmark E232 laser priner (its 2
years old model) supplies was much less expensive than on a Deskjet
color inkjet per ream of paper (500 sheets). it had postscript/PCL and
additional printer memory was available. (I upped mine to the max of
80MB.) Prints at 22 PPM and toner doesn't clog up if not used often.

Since we are talking about COLOR printing.... the same
evaluations can be used here. Just remember that inkjets may be
cheaper initially but in the long run. the laser will beat it page per
page when you factor the toner/drums vs inkjet cartridges/printheads.

Toner is expensive, yes, but you get a lot more pages out of a toner
cartridge than out of an inkjet cartridge. I bought an HP-2600N a
couple of years ago for $300, and still have half of the original toner
left. It'll cost a lot to replace it, but I probably won't have to do
it for another year and and then I'll get another three or four years.

For someone who prints more than I do, it might work out differently.

The main reason for going with the inkjet would be printing photos;
laser printers are not quite up to real photo output.
Otherwise in the long run the laser will be cheaper and quicker.

The main reason ink jets are big sellers is that they are cheaper in
the short run. They are also disposable, and lots of people don't
print that much.

They cost more to print per page - even more than printing your photos
at the camera store and having them mailed to you.

But if you don't use an inkjet regularly, your ink cartridge
dries out, making it even *more* expensive to run.

I can't see how inkjets are a good idea for any pattern of
usage -- except maybe "I have a 100 page document that I need
to print, and I don't already have a printer, and I won't
want to print anything else at all in the next five years."
