Yes, when the programmers at Apple installed some app's, for whatever
reason they decided to make them hard to copy.
They might have valid reasons for doing so, I dunno.

Yes indeed, but it is difficult for a newbie to learn. Almost all
general Mac books detail how to do it.

No, at least none of the app's I use required re-installation, they just
merely require a good backup scheme for the entire boot partition.
For example, I recently zapped an application that cost $900, along with
several other app's that were being used with that expensive app'.
No problem, just grabbed my handy dandy backup, restored my entire boot
partition, and was back in business in 5 minutes.
Most Mac users do not bother backing up individual applications, instead
they back up the entire boot partition, using some 3rd-party backup
program to do it.
....some program like "SuperDuper!" or "Carbon Copy Cloner", or
possibly "Retrospect".
I can't offer any recommendations, because I have never used any of
those three backup programs.
"SuperDuper!" seems to be the favorite, near as I can tell.
Keep in mind that whatever backup scheme you pick has to be capable of
restoring your boot partition to its former "bootable" condition.
The important thing is to buy a backup program you like, and learn how
to apply it.
That will save you the lengthy hassle of needing to re-install
everything from scratch, which could take hours.
