AFAIK, DVD-RAM cannot be played on home video players. It differs from DVR-R
in that it acts more like a hard drive disk than an optical disk. Actually,
it's closest kin would be the DVD-RW (or DVD+RW) since things can be written
to and erased from it. However, you can delete individual files from the
DVD-RAM; the whole DVD-RW/DVD+RW has to be erased to delete anything.
