Why 1904 date - Just out of why does Mac Excel use a 1904 date instead of 1900?

Why 1904 date? - Is there a specific reason why Mac Excel uses 1904 date while Windows Excel uses 1900 date?

Date? - In the commands, there is not something I can put on toolbar, which would insert today's date in a cell?

copy PC to Mac date changes - When I copy cells dates from a file that was created on a Mac to a file that was created on a PC They change! The change is always the same 1 day and 4 years. I can be doing teh cutting and pasting on either platform. I am using office 98 on..

Suggest you look at one of Edward Tufte's wonderful books on visioning information. That should engender some ideas that appropriately fit what you are trying to convey.
