Hi,
I've recently got myself an iPod nano and have successfully copied a lot
of songs to it but when I enter iTunes and select my iPod all the songs
are greyed out and I am unable to delete any songs on the nano. What am
I doing wrong?
Thanks
Bob

You want to delete the songe in the playlists you synch from. Actually,
you want to have one or more playlists on your iPod, so you want to
create those in iTunes and drop / delete Music there. "intelligent"
playlists will also work (like: "all songs with 5 stars"), but they
won't update between synchs.

I think that's the logic behind the iPod: it's not an external drive
with an audio-unit attached that will play all songs stored on it.

However, you *can* mnage your iPod manually, though I've never done
this. Maybe what you write is possible in such a szenario.

And... since HD-space on 3.5" is dirt cheap, mirroring what's on the
expensive 1.8" drive or the flash-memory shouldn't be too expensive.
