Epson CX5400 Hard to find driver on Os X.4.8

Anyone got a tip on how to proceed on following:
After installing drivers from CD/update from Epsons site
And addin a printer. My system insists on choosing
A cups driver instead of Epsons own. Even if I add
"another" and go to user/lib/printer/epson/cx5400 choosing
The driver above, the result will be a driver based on cups.

Wonder what will be installed and where, if you install from Epson CD.

Follow up
I had my doughters CX5200 at home for service and had installed the drivers.
Seems like the drivers for CX5400 can´t live on same system as drivers
for CX5200.
The CX5400 printer prefered gutenprint before native Epson.
Have not found any info about this issue.
