That turned out to be the trick after I dug up my original installer CD
(long buried in a cabinet). I ran an UNinstall for each piece of
software in the CX6600 mess and then re-installed it to be sure it was
all OK. I uninstalled the PowerPC drivers per the information on
Epson's site and installed the new Intel ones. The added the latest
patches for SmartPanel, et al.
I'd forgotten how ridiculous the install process is for this
printer...on my 2GHz iMac the installs took more than 20 minutes!
