1. Since you're using Entourage 2001, the Uninstall Office program on the
Office 2001 CD is NO GOOD. You have to go to the MacTopia website and
download the "Office Remover" for Office 2001 and 98.
2. You should NEVER have to get rid of your data files. Removing office
leaves those alone by design - so people don't lose their data. Since
ditching them got Entourage working normally again evidently you had a
corrupted database. To fix that, you should have done an Advanced Rebuild of
you database, which is what we would have recommended here if you had waited
for an answer. Even in 2001, if you have upgraded to SR-1, that usually
works. (In Entourage X, with upgrades, it virtually always does - 2001 is a
little more "iffy".)
In future, don't get rid of your data - fix it.
