We are aware of this, and think it may be an Apple bug. Please see this
thread: http://www.officeformac.com/ProductForums/Excel/822.
Thanks,

Pat:
I am having the same Excel 08 crash when I maximize certain
spreadsheets.
1. I have Parallels installed
2. I do not have Parallels running
3. I can replicate the problem consistently with one of these
spreadsheet files - These files have either been created on a Windows
machine or modified on a Windows machine
4. I have not been able to make this happen with a blank worksheet
file
5. I have a MacBook Pro 15 inch with a GeForce 8600m GT
6. I just installed the Leopard graphic update and still have the
problem
I am also having another problem, which may or may not be related. I
have a fairly good sized workbook template that I have been using for
years. In Excel 2008, I consistently get a circular reference error.
All of the number calculate correctly and the same document opens with
no circular reference errors in Excel 2004 and in Vista with Excel
2007. This worksheet also crashes when maximized, but not every time.
Thanks for your efforts,

Thanks for your report, Bob. Actually, we've heard a few other reports of
circular reference errors with certain files, but have not been able to get
to the bottom of it yet. Unfortunately, the best way to do that is to
actually look at a file that has the problem. I know that many files cannot
be shared for privacy or confidentiality reasons, but if there's any way you
could send me your file (any file that shows the problem) it would almost
certainly give us what we need to identify and fix the problem. If that's
possible, please send to patmcmil.TakeThisOut@microsoft.com. If that's not possible,
please describe as best you can the contents and history of the file --
especially the structure of the formulas that show the circular reference
error.
Thanks,
Pat

I have had the same issue: same spec as others (parallels installed,
but not running, Quicksilver b53 installed, Excel doc created on a PC)
- but the crash only occurs for me when maximising an Excel doc that's
located on a shared (SMB) volume. If I copy the file to the desktop,
no problems.
Please help!
Cheers
Matt
