Hey folks,

I want to make my finder show a "List" by default instead of the icons.
But, I want it to do this for every directory no matter what. I can't for
the life of me figure out how to set it to do this and to always stay that
way. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

-Chris

Open the desired window,
on the window toolbar click the list view button, which looks like a
paragraph icon with five lines going horizontally.
that should make the items look as list.
Then, afterwards

go to "View" menu, and choose "Show view options"

It will show you the options to set to the window and enclosed folders
if you prefer.

thats it.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

And it'll work fine for new Finder windows. It'll fail afetr opening a
window for the first new folder you make. It'll never work for windows
of folders the machine makes‹like a New Folder in a Save asŠ dialogue.

That's been my experience. If anyone has actually made e v e r y
window open in List view I'd sure like to hear how they did it.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
