I followed the instructions on the Gmail site to set this up.
Previously I used POP and it worked fine. Also, I have IMAP Gmail set
up on my iPhone and that works just fine. It's just through Mail that
it doesn't seem to work.

In Mail, it takes forever to receive mails (sometimes I don't get them
till the next day) and the "Mail Activity" box always says Incoming
Messages with a status bar that never moves. Sometimes it says
something like Incoming Messages 781 of 18011 (which is ridiculous
because I don't get that many messages - is it trying to download all
of my messages from the past?). Then sometimes it says more
reasonable like Incoming Messages 5 of 6. But it never actually
downloads the messages.

If I try to move a message to a folder under the Gmail hierarchy, it
takes forever and sometimes freezes Mail altogether and I have to
Force Quit.

Please help! I searched for this issue on this forum and the Apple
forum and could not find any answers.
