Howdy!

I don't really like "Monaco" for Terminal. I don't really like "vt100".

I want something that was designed to look good in the right proportion
for an 80 x 24 "terminal" screen.

Are you using another font that you really like? If so - please hit the
<Reply> button and tell me what it is and if possible where you got it.

Thanks very much.

Courier "Oblique" works for me on my Powerbook.

It came with the system.

YMMV

I use one of the Courier fonts. (Not at my mac, so I'm not sure
off the top of my head which one, size, weight). With antialiasing
turned on. The serifs make it easier to read longer passages of
text, but it's still monospaced.

I find I make a lot of use of the cmd-+ and cmd-- keys to increase
or decrease the font size depending on if I'm working entirely in
the one terminal or if I have several that I'm moving between or
several other apps or windows open. Those two keys are *very*
helpful.

Eudora used to come with a very good monospaced font called Mishawaka
(or was it only that I used it with Eudora? Hm.) Monaco-like, but much
better on the eyes.

Check VersionTracker for ProFont. I have used this font for years. Very
clear font - with slashed zero's which makes it easier to pick out
whether you have a letter or number .<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

You could try Bistream Vera Sans Mono.

I think Monaco looks pretty good, AFTER you turn on antialiasing
in terminal (off by default, for some inexplicable reason).

I tried it but could not get Mac OSX 10.4 to recognize the Vera. The
docs provided say nothing about Macintosh.

How did you get it recognized by the Tiger?

Just download and double-click on the ttf files, then click on install.

install?<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
