I'm looking for a remote desktop app for OSX. I have two distinct uses
for it, one which will connect over a LAN and the other over the
Internet. There seem to be quite a few choices, so I'm looking for
recommendations for anything anyone has found particularly good.
I tried the trial versions of Desktop Transporter and Vine (server
and client). Desktop Transporter is a commercial product costing about
$30 for a two node license. I thought Vine was GPL but the website
doesn't seem to confirm that. In any case, in my trial, Desktop
Transporter with "hardware acceleration" on seemed much snappier
than Vine. Both seemed to be well supported products, Vine more
"professional" but Desktop Transporter slicker and faster. But
that's the extent of my testing so far.
Any comments or recommendations? >> Stay informed about: Good remote desktop (or VNC) apps for OSX? |

I agree with you. I currently use it on our network to connect to
Windows servers and I have not had any problems.

I highly recommend Apple Remote Desktop 3. Pricey but stable and has
many features other VNC apps simply don't have. >> Stay informed about: Good remote desktop (or VNC) apps for OSX? |

I use Vine (server) and Chicken of the VNC (client) tunneled through
SSH, using PublicKkey Authentication.

I've recently found JollyFastVNC -- it's noticeably faster than my
former fave client: Chicken of the VNC (and also free). >> Stay informed about: Good remote desktop (or VNC) apps for OSX? |

No, Tina, you don't.
You use Remote Desktop Connection from Microsoft to connect to Windows
servers.
