HP PSC 2510 all-in-one printer problems

I just bought a HP networked all-in-one (the PSC 2510), and have an
endemic problem with it.

Printing from MacOSX 10.3 or Mac OS 9.2, it starts to print the page and
then puts up a dialog box saying that there is no black and white
cartridge.

From WinXP, things print fine. From a MacOSX 10.2 system, the pages
print AND I get the dialog box complaining about the B&W cartridge.

Anyone see and solve this problem already? I haven't been getting much
useful help from the HP support web site...

I had exactly the same problem, then found a note on the HP site which
addresses it:

They give two suggestions, the second of which is to disable print
sharing (which is unnecessary since this is a network printer). After
making the change and rebooting a few times (also resetting the printer
configuration to the default), all is working well now.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
