Need Help with FPX files under OS 10.4.3

Hi. I am writing because I am having trouble viewing images in the
flashpix format under OS System 10.4.3. I use Flashpix files because
Flashpix is the format that my old Kodak digital camera uses.
Strangely, when I open these fpx files in an OS 10 program, such as
Graphics Converter, Quicktime Player, or Preview, the images appear much
darker than they do in OS 9. In Classic Mode, i can run OS 9 programs
that display the FPX images with normal contrast. I use Epson's Film
Factory software as well as Pictureviewer under OS 9. I have no idea why
these images are appearing darker under OS 10. Does anyone have any idea
what is going on? Are there some systemwide settings that I can change?
