I'm thinking of buying an ibook, but want to know if I
can connect it to my home network which uses micrsoft
broadband utility. can it happen?

I don't know what Microsoft broadband utility is, but if your network is
set up to share internet via ethernet or WiFi, it can share an internet
connection. It also supports Windows filesharing.
