Post subject: Ibook modem
Archived from groups: comp>sys>mac>portables (more info?)

I was stuck housesitting for my parents and decided to setup my Ibook to use
their dial up connection.
When i went into the internet connect it showed internal modem but when i
tried to dial it said the modem was not found.
So i tried going into the network connections and setting it up there but
when the internal modem showed up it was greyed out.

It's almost like the drivers weren't loaded. Can you choose not to load the
drivers during an OS install?

I have a 800mhz Ibook with Jaguar installed.

Gary

Well upon further inspection it appears my modem is totally not functional.
I ran the Hardware test cd and it doesn't show that I have a modem
installed. So I guess I'll be trying out the applecare thing.
