Important things to know about the Powerbook G4 17"

There is a BIG problem with a lot of vertical lines of one pixel wide
that appears on the LCD screen of a particular serie of Powerbook G4
17". Their serial number start with W85, they were made in March and
April 2005 by W8 factory in Shangai, China. Apple doesn't want to
recognize his responsibility and is censuring his Support Forum about
this, deleting posts and threads since November 2006...

This blog is in French, but you will find many English links on the
sidebar about this particular case... A lot of consumers hope that
Apple will do something... This screen defect appear between 12 to 26
month after purchase and its not normal for a 4000$ computer! Mine
have 17 vertical lines for the moment, after 26 months, no AppleCare.
