Infrared transfering (IrDA)

Hi, my i have just bought a new laptop powerbook G4 with a Infrared
port and i have a oldder laptop 1400c powerBook running os 8.6 and it
has allso got a Infrared port but i don't have any software on the 8.6,

i have not got the origeinol software for the old 8.6 so i need to
download it. does any one know where i can download some software for
the mac os 8.6 so that i can use the Infrared port to transfer all my
files from the old mac 8.6 to the new mac G4 running mac OS X 10.3.9
with the Infrared port workking. (it doesnt matter that it might take a

long time to transfer all the data)
