Folks,

Every once in a while I start missing having a simple end-user
programming environment like hypercard. Not for large applications,
but for something a simple as embedding some smarts into an email
message (say for meeting scheduling).

More recently, it's struck me that Javascript has most of the needed
functionality - but what's missing is a simple editing environment -
not a full-up IDE or building large apps, but something like a page
template that includes a few functions for editing itself (insert
button, insert field, and so forth). Something that's a couple of steps
up from the simple scripts that you find in some tutorials (type code
in one frame, see it rendered in a 2nd frame).

Has anybody come across such a beast?

Thanks much,

Miles

I'm not sure that it's exactly what you need, but I've found
Konfabulator quite useful.

K uses javascript, which seems quite easy to an old HyperTalk user.
