Post subject: LaCie drives on Leopard
Archived from groups: comp>sys>mac>hardware>storage (more info?)

For my new Intel Core2duo iMac with Leopard I am looking for an
external drive of 1TB. As I have always been served very well by my
smaller LaCie drives on my G4, I am thinking of buying the LaCie
Extreme+ or the Quadra. The Extreme is much cheaper.
However, I have read that some people are having trouble with several
brands of drives on Leopard. What are your experiences?

The matter is I just saw this discussion:

However, those people are having Leopard installed over an older
system. I sincerely do not think any LaCie drive could pose a problem
on my iMac. I can plug my old LaCie drives (80 and 500 GB big disk) in
my new iMac and they appear on the desktop. No trouble at all. I can
move files from those drives to my new iMac and vice versa.
So I guess what the above discussion is all about is some bug related
to an old system.
Is there any essential difference in quality between the Quadra and the
Extreme+?
