Post subject: LaserJet 5 Question on OSX.3
Archived from groups: comp>sys>mac>misc (more info?)

Hello,

I just got a used LaserJet 5.

I added a jetdirect J2552 card in order to connect the printer to
a Mac with OSX.3 and print with IP. The ether link was working with an
other printer and seems OK on the switch.

The card seems to be recognized, for the menus show an additionnal ITF
MOD HP menu.

The status page shows OK for TCP/IP :
config : DHCP
addr : 192.168.1.34 (good on my lan)
mask : 255.255.255.0 (right)
router : 192.168.1.1 (right again)
dhcp-srv : 192.168.1.1 (ok)

So, everything seems right but printer config won't find the printer,
whatever IP connection type i choose (IP printing/HP jetdirect; via IP
HP/auto). (LJ5 drivers are installed with my OSX).

What am I missing ? Any idea, info or link ?

TIA.
