Post subject: Laserwriter 300 and Laserwriter 320 on iMac G5 Intel using AsanteTalk
Archived from groups: comp>sys>mac>printing (more info?)

The easiest way to make your Apple LaserWriter 300 or LaserWriter 320
or 4/600PS work on your iMac G5 is to get an AsanteTalk from Asante or
from Ebay. But remember, there's a trick to making the AsanteTalk
work. You have to power on the AsanteTalk device directly AFTER you
select your device inside your add printer set up in your System
Preferences. Basically, you have to trick the iMac into accepting your
printer. Don't worry, it will work fine, you just have to do the trick
correctly. Phone Asante because they will talk you thru the easy
connection process.

I got a good deal on an AsanteTalk from Ebay, so now I have my
LaserWriter 300 and 320 postscript printer connected to my iMac G5
Intel and still love using these very reliable older printers!!!
