Hi guys
i am having problems with my mouse Logitech MX 1000 and my leopard.

I think the mouse is not the problem since it works fine with windows,
but when I use it with my Leopard it doesn't work correctly. (I have
installed the Logitech Control Center 2.4)

I don't know how to explain my problem but it doesn't move
smoothly....i hardly can target the point where I want to click...
it's like it would jump a pixel or 2 while moving....

I have tried connecting another logitech mouse to my macbookpro and it
works fine (Mini Optical Mouse)

Can you explain me how to solve this weird behavior. I can even change
my mouse but I'd like to know which one will work for sure....

For example an MX revolution could be ok for me but i wouldn't like to
buy a new mouse without being sure if it works correctly....

Thanks
Max

Have you tried using the mouse *without* the utterly lame Logitech
Control Center installed? There should be a uninstaller in your
/Applications/Utilities folder. Try uninstalling it and restarting to
see if the mouse tracking returns to normal.

Reviews of Logitech Control Center show that it's horribly buggy
software, so I advise you to remove it:

My wife and I both have this same mouse on macs, one PPC, one Intel.
They work fine, we haven't had any issues, so I have no idea why you
are having trouble.

Yes, I installed it, but I haven't used it or updated it in a year or
so. *shrug*

I have a different Logitech item, a cordless trackball (Optical
TrackMan). Would I be able to use all the extra buttons without the
Logitech Control Center?

One possibility might be USB Overdrive, which I bought ages ago but
haven't used for some time.

USB Overdrive should do what you want.

Thanks.

And if I had had a bit more sense, I would not have bothered you, but
just tried it. All seems ok (including mapping the buttons) so far.

Hello,

Have found any solution ?

With my MX1000 and Leopard, the logitech driver stops work very
often : the mouse continues to work, but I have no access to the
buttons, except the left and right click ....

There's your problem. Logitech Control Center is known to be very bad,
buggy software. Uninstall it and your mouse tracking problem will likely
vanish.
