How good is the newest (1.5.0) Logitech mouse driver for OS X? I'm in the
market for a new mouse... I've been using a MS Mouse with Intellipoint,
and I really like the degree of customization it allows (different button
settings for different apps, etc.), but I don't like the new mouse
designs. I'm looking at the Logitech laser cordless mice; however I'm
hesitant because Logitech has a history of drivers with limited
customization features. Is this still the case?

Thanks,
dave

I bought a Logitech wireless mouse a few months ago and it was a mistake to
install the downloaded driver at that time. I ended up buying the
USBOverdrive application and while it works as expected the Logitech kernel
extension knocked it out. I then had to uninstall all Logitech components to
get the USBOverdrive to work.

hi,

I use logitech mouse, and trackball and I installed the driver for a
little more speed of pointer.

Customization features look ok to me, but it's subjective; of course.

You may try to get info from Logitech about a specific thing you need.

E.g. for both devices, wheel button here opens "Path Finder" (kind of
finder) and OS X is clever so if it's already running, it opens new
window for it. ;)

Huh? I use a Logitech MX700, and it installed with a
really nice configurator in System Prefs.

And I still keep the white mouse plugged in for emergencies, or when
I've cradled the mouse but remembered something else I needed to do.
