Boy, do I need help!

I had a hard drive failure and had to copy my Excel 97 software in from a CD
backup. Excel opens fine for worksheets with no macros but I get a "Visual
Basic error loading DLL" message for any of my worksheets containing a
macro. If I open Excel and then attempt to record a macro, I get a
"recording not available" message.

Any help resolving this problem would be greatly appreciated!

You'll probably do better in a group that's not dedicated to Macintosh
XL. I'd suggest

microsoft.public.excel.setup

or the general

microsoft.public.excel.misc<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
