Mac OS X local drives are NOT showing under RDC. Local Resources Disk
Drives is checked on RDC connection options.

What else needs to be established so a user can save a file from the remote
win2k server to the Mac's local hard drive?

His feature only works with Windows XP and Server 2003. It doesn't work when
connecting to a W2K server.

Make an SMB connection to the server from your Mac if you want to write
files back and forth or turn on Windows Sharing on the Mac and mount it on
the remote machine from within your terminal session.
