I have an Apple iBook running OS X 10.2.6, and the Remote Desktop client
1.0.1.

With it, I can successfully connect to a Windows XP Pro desktop. The XP Pro
desktop can connect to a Windows 2003 Server running Terminal Services. But
the Mac can't connect to the server.

I get a pop-up box that says:

The client could not connect to the remote computer.
Because of a security error, the client could not connect the the remote
computer. Verify that you are logged on to the network, and then try
connecting again.

I seem to remember we had to upgrade our Windows RDP clients in order to
work against the 2003 Server TS due to some last minute change in the
encryption methodology. Is it possible the Mac client (Feb 6, 2003) failed
to come along?

Hi Chad!

I can't help you with your question other than say that I am using RDC 1.0.1
with Windows 2003 on a local network and also across the Internet (from work
to home).

If you're using it across a router or firewall, be sure you have port 3389
open to allow RDC to work.

You may also need to check the encryption level in Terminal Services
Configuration in Administrative Tools. I have mine set to "client
compatible", which is the default.

Hope this helps! bill
