My MacBook, which I have had about 2 weeks with Sys10.5.1 will not
start up. Just to the Apple, then the spinner for about a minute and
restart. This would repeat as long as I let it. What do I do next.

(Why does a big company like Apple not have tech support after 6pm?)

Do you have a SD card, or Memory Stick or similar, inserted in the
reader slot? I had a similar problem with my one month old MacBook
Pro, and it was the consequence that the SD card that it was inserted
in the reader slot was damaged.

Simply, pulling it out, when the computer was powered off, solved the
problem. Curious, isn't it?

I was able to get my MacBook up and running by booting up
from the installation disk and running diskrepair. It
spent over an hour fixing permissions and briefly did
diskrepair, then it booted up without problem. Everything
seemed to start after a new user was created. All the icons
in the dock were question marks. Next restart it just restarted
over and over again without fully booting.
