Ditto. I'm among those who was particularly hoping for a spreadsheet
component in iWork. Or even confirmation that such a thing wasn't in the
cards, in which case I could look at alternatives without concern.
As it is, the most interesting thing to me is the new base station. Its
shortcomings are irrelevant to me and the drive sharing is quite
intriguing, but I'm waiting to see actual release specs.

Welcome back, Michelle. The place hasn't been the same without you.
Thanks for the mini-report!

Thanks for the update Michelle. I too was hoping for some news about
iWork 07 and/or iLife 07. I'm just looking at the trial version of iWork
06 that came with Tiger - if I do decide to get it, I'll be somewhat
miffed if the 07 version comes out a month later.

An Apple person at the big booth told me that iWork 07 and iLife 07
announcements were deliberately delayed so as not to compete with the
iPhone and iTV announcements. He said they are in place for release
pretty soon.

The iPhone has been anticipated for years, though. It was going to
overshadow everything else. Apple very obviously structures its
announcements to get lots of free publicity. They'll get more total
coverage announcing the other stuff at other events.

A lot of stuff got crowded out of the keynote by the iPhone. They'll
show up in the next month or so.
