I have been trying to write an Excel Macro (or AppleScript) to do the
following:

Open Excel sheet.
Open Explorer
Find data.
Copy data.
Quit Explorer
Return to Excel
Paste data.
End

I do this manually and it works beautifully.
Both the recorded Macro (and the AppleScript) seem ok. Then I try them
again and they work. However when I Quit and then try again I get an error
message that says Excel gets hung up at the "paste" command.

What am I doing wrong, and can anyone help solve my problem?

Jack

Hi Jack,

I could be wrong, but if you are looking to import data from tables then
perhaps a web query is the way to go.

A free download so all you have to do is enter the URL of the web page is
here:

If this is not what you are seeking, can you provide information about the
kind of data your are trying to import?

Thanks.

Hi Harvey,

I saw your note on Version Tracker. I can confirm that the add-in does
crash in Panther but not in Jaguar. I haven't had a chance to figure out
what exactly is causing the crash in Panther. It might be something in the
10.1.5 update of Excel. There are a lot of variables that could be involved,
so I am trying various things to see what happens.
