PB G4 1.25 DDR 333 Memory - Hi All, Just ordered a 15 inch @ 1.25 Ghz with a single Apple DDR 333 DIMM. Want to fill the spare slot to have 1 Gb. What is the DIMM that Apple is rebadging here to sell. I know Apple does make memory so they must be buying it of someone? Thanks

how much memory for 10.2.6/10.3? - I'm getting a new G5 with 256 megs. I'm planning on adding memory but I'm unsure whether to add 256 or 512 for a total of 512 or 768. The ways these things work, it really isn't much more expensive to go the 512 route over the 256 route. ..

ECC memory in the G5 ? - Gents, Would it make sense putting memory modules in a dual 2GHz Powermac G5 ? I see that on-line prices of 512MB ECC PC3200 DDR DIMMs are quite to what the Apple Store charges for non-ECC DIMMs. I have no idea..

Max memory with OS X 10.3 = 4 Gb ? - As I it, OS X, even at version 10.3 is still not a 64 bit OS. So if I max out the memory in my dual 2GHz G5 to 8 Gb, will I only be able to use 4Gb of this until some future version of OS X supports 64 bit ? Paul

What memory for a G5? - I need to upgrade the memory in my 1.8 MHz G5 to 1GB, currently it has 0.5GB: 2 banks of 256MB, CL3 ram. Garritan Libraries specifies 1GB as standard (sic!). Most of the PC3200 RAM I see for sale has CL2 rating. The..

Archived from groups: comp>sys>mac>hardware>misc (more info?)

The new Mac Pro is said to work best when there are 4 memory modules or
more installed (so that it can have 256 bit wide access to data).

I'm wondering how this plays out in various scenarios of memory sticks..

* multiples of 4 (identically sized) memory sticks installed
* mix and match (i.e. 2 x 2gig + 4 x 1gig)
* once you have 4 sticks, additional sticks don't slow things down
* matched 4 sticks are fast, access to additional pairs are slower
