One factor is that they have a strong tendency towards Wizards... For
example, their CameraWindow.app is a launcher for 4 apps in a
sub-directory of the CameraWindow directory. The main interface for
Camera window shows a tabbed window, with tabs labeled Acquire Images,
Set to Camera and Remote shooting. Outside of the tab, and at the bottom
of the window are two buttons, Preferences and Quit.
Being outside the tabs, these buttons are always visible, however, the
preferences button is only enabled when the 'Acquire Images' tab is
selected. Selecting preferences launches a chain of four dialogs of
preferences. When any other tab is frontmost that button is disabled.
Basically, the design of the application is very Windows-centric.

Beyond the CameraWindow, which will launch ImageBrowser, and
ImageBrowser which will launch the bundled ArcSoft PhotoStudio, or
Canon's MyCamera App, there is also an explicit PhotoStitchLauncher.app.
PhotoStitch launcher is a weaker example, as you can choose to launch
PhotoStitch directly, but attempting to launch MyCamera, or any other
apps in the CWUtility directory results in an error dialog (home grown,
rather than system error).
