I have a B&W G3, 350
I have just dipped my toe in the OSX water, buying a copy of 10.1
I can't open 9.2 apps from within OSX because every time 9.2 starts to
boot up, it hangs on the CD-rom icon and starts beeping, as if it can't
find the thing, which is right where Apple installed it, in the blue and
white tower....
If I set the start up disk to re boot and start up in 9.2, it works OK,
but then when I go to the start up file/folder/application on the
control panel menu, or from the help menu, the window opens, the black
and white ball spins, then it crashes.... I've tried throwing away the
[preference file, which is my only idea...no help
I can't seem to find any other way to get it to boot back up in Sys
X...is there one...
I bought the 10.1 cause it was cheap, and I am out of work, and there
are some apps I need to buy and run on 10, like Office.....
anyone have any idea?
Thanks,
Jonathan >> Stay informed about: OS 10.1, can't get back from 9.2 |

Try holding down the "X" key at boot.

I can't help with the rest, but as for this part, please don't base your
impression of OS X on 10.1. 10.2 is a vast improvement, and 10.3 is
supposedly much better than even that. Also note that each release has run
faster on the same hardware than the previous one.
