Every time I print to my Epson C84, my system.log shows the following
entries:
Dec 26 17:33:28 My-Computer kernel: USBF: 321073.905
IOUSBInterface[0x19c2800]::handleOpen failing because super::handleOpen
failed (someone already has it open)
Despite the error, everything prints just fine. I've googled the error
and found little information. Epson's support site has nothing at all
related to the error.
I'm running OS X 10.3.7 on a PowerMac G4/450DP, with the C84 connected
via USB. The printer is shared so my eMac and iBook can print to it.
I hooked my older Epson Stylus Color 900 up to my eMac (also 10.3.7)
via USB, and it generates the exact same error message on every print
job. That printer is NOT shared.
Anyone else seeing this? Seems like a basic flaw in the driver, though
not one that appears to cause any problems. I'm going to email Epson
and see what they say.
