Archived from groups: microsoft>public>outlook>mac (more info?)

Hi,

I've been going through this newsgroups trying to solve our email
problem with the one MAC on our Windows network and using Exchange
2000. It seems like the forum Outlook 2001 on OS X v. 10.3 from July
15 2003 and July 29, may be a solution to our problem but my first
question is:

Is it possible to use Outlook 2001 with OS X v2.1 without having to
switch to OS 9 Classic mode, as this requires the Mac user to reboot?
(so far we haven't been able to get this to work)

If so, how? (we are Win2000, EX2000, network, with DNS servers, IMAP,
no pop)

If this is related to the July 15 and July 29 posting, could William
M. Smith possibly send me the required files too?

My apologies if this duplicates other postings, just trying to find
answers.

Thanks,

Marie

Hi Marie!

I'll be sending you the files and instructions privately. Outlook will only
run while the Mac is booted into Mac OS 9 or running in Classic mode under
Mac OS X.

FYI, since you're running Exchange 2000, your Mac also has the ability to
use Entourage X, which is now the Mac OS X native email client for Exchange
2000 or higher.

Here's some information on the Exchange update
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.microsoft.com/mac/products/entouragex/entouragex.aspx?pid=exchang" target="_blank">http://www.microsoft.com/mac/products/entouragex/entouragex.aspx?pid=exchang</a>
eupdate. Here's some information about whether or not it's right for you
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.microsoft.com/mac/support.aspx?pid=exchange." target="_blank">http://www.microsoft.com/mac/support.aspx?pid=exchange.</a> And here's setup
information for using Entourage with Exchange
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.microsoft.com/mac/resources/resources.aspx?pid=resourcekits&rk=of" target="_blank">http://www.microsoft.com/mac/resources/resources.aspx?pid=resourcekits&rk=of</a>
ficex&article=/mac/officex/ork/Configure_Entourage.xml.

Hope this helps! bill
